General Rules
As this is a group blog and is created for the benefit of all the participants, we should adhere to a general consensus of rules for postings.
The rules CafePress uses for its forums should be sufficient for our postings as well.
One of the main things is that Shopkeeper Designs is a family friendly site. This is simply not negotiable. If you don’t want to follow this rule, you are more than welcome to start your own blog / group blog, etc. This just isn’t the place for that type of content.
That said, I realize “family friendly” is a subjective term and I reserve the right to edit/delete a posting as necessary. In general I don’t expect to do this often, and hope that everyone is pretty much on the same page in this area. (use of curse words, posting of inappropriate content, etc. will get your post deleted).
Since we are reviewing the designs of other shopkeepers, please keep in mind that everyone has a different taste, style, likes & dislikes, etc. Just because you don’t care for a design or a particular style doesn’t mean that others who are into that style will dislike it. A for instance: Shop A only has text “designs”. You have been assigned to pick a design from that shop for review. You think they all lack creativity, etc. after all, all it is is a word or two on a shirt. This shop may have a particular demographic in mind when they created their shop. Maybe they only have time for certain designs, or lack the skills to do other designs. Part of reviewing a design will be understanding what the designer had in mind when creating it. Contacting the designer, putting yourself in the mind frame of someone who would like the shirt will help in creating the review.
Participants are free to post as many reviews as they would like, but 1 per month should be considered the min.
This is not a spam blog, and as such we might need to incorporate verification tools (typing in a scramble word for instance) to keep spammers out.
